Mylio continues to be fun and a wonderful force in keeping me organized in the midst of lots of pictures and lots of road time. It just upgraded to v1.4, and you can check out what’s new here.
It’s still cool to see it run through its paces and synchronize across all the devices we could muster together at the studio. For the first time, my Iphone pix are actually in folders, and identified. Major step for me.
And, when I want to mess with a photo, just basic stuff, I plug in a change, and everything follows suit.
I’m no software expert, so I probably have more fun doing this than I should. Is it Lightroom? No. Is it PhotoShop? Absolutely not. The post-production capabilities are pretty basic.
But, if you are one of those folks with the kid’s soccer game still on the SD card from last season, and half the family album on an aging hard drive, and a few other things that are even older on some DVDs in a box somewhere, this thing can pull it together for you quickly. And for me, having been an Aperture guy, using it to make slide shows, presentations, collections and the like, it’s dead bang simple, and fast. Just a cool program. Nice, super smart people. It’s fun to be involved with them, and prove to myself that even though I’m the type of person who approaches the computer warily, I can really learn things and get better at it.
